National Cat Day was created in 2005 to raise awareness about the plight of homeless cats in America. Every year Americans euthanize over 500,000 cats. Over 45 million Americans own a cat and 75% of these cat owners consider their cats to be a part of their family. There are multiple National Cat days, depending on what country you’re from. In America, National Cat Day is October 29th. Typically, on this day, thousands of cats get adopted out of shelters. This is a win-win situation as cats find homes and humans get a furry little creature to love. Celebrate National Cat Day with this fun poster!
