American chariot racing is a thing. Mostly popular in the Midwest, chariot racing was made famous by the ancient Greeks and Romans. Not to say that chariot racing did not exist outside of Greece and Rome, but the Circus Maximus made the sport go viral. Hernan Cortez is thought to have been the first person to bring a horse to North America in 1519. I guess we can attribute something good to the guy? Chariot racing is waning sport in America, but horse-loving sure isn’t. This poster captures the stately sport.
